Product description

Molecular sieve also called zeolite, is a crystalline aluminum silicate. Its crystal structure has neat and uniform channel, aperture around a molecular level, molecular sieve only allows smaller diameter than its aperture into it, so it can sieve molecules according to their size in the mixture, so it called molecular sieve. According to molecular sieve aperture size, there are 3A, 4A, 5A, 10X, 13X. 4A molecular sieve is Na-A molecular sieve, aperture 0.4nm; if Na replaced by K, aperture 0.3nm, is 3A molecular sieve; if over 1/3 Na replaced by Ca2+, aperture 0.5nm, is 5A molecular sieve.

4A Molecular Sieve is a kind of synthetic, with micropore cubic lattice of alkali metal aluminosilicate salt. It also called Sodium A molecular sieve, its structure is similar to NaCl. Due to its effective pore diameter is 0.4nm, so it is called 4A molecular sieve, its space network structure is staggered by silicon-oxygen tetrahedron (SiO4) and aluminium-oxygen tetrahedron (AlO4). 4A molecular sieve decides the adsorption order according to the polarity of different molecules, adsorbs only those with a molecular diameter of less than 4A. For small polar molecules and unsaturated molecules, the greater polarity, the higher degree of unsaturation, the stronger of selective absorption.

In the skeleton of 4A molecular sieve each oxygen atom is shared by two adjacent tetrahedrons, these structures formed a large crystal cave, positive ions and water molecules can be exchanged and reversible dehydration in the crystal cave. The ion-exchange of 4A molecular sieves is in crystals which have aluminium ions, each of aluminum ions with a negative charge, which can be combined with cations such as sodium, calcium and magnesium. Calcium ions and magnesium ions can replace sodium ions and enter crystal caves which were occupied by the sodium ions. It shows that sodium ions can be exchanged by Ca2+, Mg2+ ions in hard water, so 4A molecular sieve can soften water. 4A molecular sieve also can remove a small amount harmful heavy metal ions (such as Pb2+, Cd2+, Hg2+) in water, it is very important for purifying water.

4A molecular sieve adsorbs those substances which molecular diameter is less than 4A, such as water methanol, ethanol, hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide, ethylene, ethane, propylene, ammonia, doesn’t adsorb molecules which diameter are greater than 4A (include propane), the selective adsorption performance to water than any other molecules.

 

Attention

1. The product cannot be exposed in the open air and should be stored in dry condition with air-proof package.
2. The product should be regenerated after a certain period of adsorption. The appropriate regenerated temperature would be better below 350°C.

Function

1 Ion exchange performance-water softening function: Every oxygen atom in the framework of 4A molecular sieve is shared by two adjacent tetrahedrons. This structure forms a large crystal cavity that can be occupied by cations and water molecules. Moreover, these cations and water molecules have greater mobility and can undergo cation exchange and reversible dehydration. The ion exchange of 4A molecular sieve is carried out on the framework with aluminum ions. Each aluminum ion carries a negative charge, which can not only bind sodium ions, but also other cations. Calcium and magnesium ions can enter the large crystal cavities occupied by the original sodium ions, and the sodium ions in the 4A molecular sieve can be replaced-that is, the sodium ions in the 4A molecular sieve can be ion exchanged, and can be exchanged with Ca2+, Mg2+ ions in hard water Exchange, so as to achieve the purpose of softening water quality.

 

2 The binding speed of 4A molecular sieve to calcium and magnesium ions is slower than that of sodium tripolyphosphate, and its binding ability to magnesium ions is weaker. However, 4A molecular sieve can remove a small amount of harmful heavy metal ions (such as Pb2+, Cd2+, Hg2+) in the aqueous solution easily and quickly, which is of great significance for water purification.

 

3 Adsorption to surfactants-carrier liquid function: Due to the pore structure of the 4A molecular sieve crystals and the large specific surface area of the particles, the 4A molecular sieve has a strong adsorption performance.

 

4 Adsorption of non-ionic surfactants, 4A molecular sieve is 3 times that of NTA (nitrilotriacetate) and sodium carbonate, and 5 times that of sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP) and sodium sulfate. This property is useful for agglomeration It is of great significance to prepare products with good washing and flow properties by adding more surfactants in the production of highly concentrated washing powder. Through experiments, the liquid carrying capacity of 4A molecular sieve is ≥30%. Adding 4A molecular sieve in the washing powder production process can increase the fluidity of the material, adjust the viscosity, and obtain products with good appearance, fluidity and anti-caking ability.

 

 

Application

1 Folding detergent additives: The role of 4A molecular sieve as detergent additives is mainly to exchange calcium ions in water to produce softened water, remove dirt and prevent dirt from re-deposition. 4A molecular sieve is currently the most widely used and most mature product in the phosphorus generation builder. 4A molecular sieve replaces sodium tripolyphosphate as a detergent assistant, which plays a major role in solving environmental pollution. 4A molecular sieve can also be used as a forming agent for soap and a friction agent for toothpaste.

 

2 Folding sewage treatment: 4A molecular sieve can remove NH3-N and Pb, Cu, Zn, Cd, etc. in sewage. Regeneration
