Product Description
Activated Alumina – Basically it is a porous and solid form of aluminum oxide otherwise known as Al203 or alumina. It is being well known among desiccants as all the desiccants are used for the same purpose, it has varied application and due to its wide surface area, it is mostly recommended.

Under certain operating conditions and regeneration conditions, its drying depth is as high as the dew point temperature -70℃ or less. It is an efficient desiccant for deep drying of trace water. Activated alumina desiccant is mainly used for drying liquids and gases. Although all molecules can be absorbed to a certain extent, molecules with strong polarity are preferentially absorbed. Gas pressure, concentration, molecular weight, temperature and molecular active sites all affect the effect of adsorption. The common sizes of activated alumina desiccants are spherical 1/16", 1/8", 3/16", 1/4". It is widely used in gas and liquid phase drying in petrochemical industry, drying in textile industry, oxygen production industry and automatic instrument wind, pressure swing adsorption in air separation industry, etc. Due to the high net heat of the monomolecular adsorption layer, it is very suitable for heatless regeneration devices.

Activated alumina is used for a wide range of adsorbent and catalyst applications including the adsorption of catalysts in polyethylene production, in hydrogen peroxide production, as a selective adsorbent for many chemicals including arsenic, fluoride, in sulfur removal from fluid streams (Claus Catalyst process).

Activated alumina is also widely used to remove fluoride from drinking water. In the US, there are widespread programs to fluoridate drinking water. However, in certain regions, such as the Rajasthan region of India, there is enough fluoride in the water to cause fluorosis.
