Product Description

 

Molecular Sieve 3A is an alkali metal alumino-silicate; it is the potassium form of the type A crystal structure. Type 3A has an effective pore opening of about 3 angstroms (0.3nm). This is large enough to allow in moisture, but excludes molecules such as unsaturated hydrocarbons which can potentially form polymers; and this maximizes lifetime when dehydrating such molecules

Scope of application

1. Used in oil gas, gas streams of unsaturated hydrocarbon material dehydration of 3A molecular sieve professional;

2. Drying of highly polar compounds, such as methanol and ethanol. It is also used for dehydration of liquid alcohol and solvents;

3. Used for professional kerosene and jet fuel drying;

4. Application of 3a molecular sieve in isopropanol dehydration; Used for natural gas dehydration and prevent the formation of COS;

5. Used in deep desiccation of cracked petroleum gases, such as ethylene, propylene, butadiene, acetylene and natural gas, and of polar liquid, such as ethanol, LPG and solvent;

Commonly used adsorbents include various activated carbon adsorbents and metal and non-metal oxide adsorbents (such as silica gel, alumina, molecular sieve, natural clay, etc.) using carbon as raw materials.

 

The main indicators to measure the adsorbent are: adsorption capacity for different gas impurities, abrasion rate, loose bulk density, specific surface area, crush strength, etc. It is used to filter out poisonous gas, refine petroleum and vegetable oil, prevent viruses and molds, recover gasoline in natural gas, and decolorize sugar and other colored substances.

 

The adsorbents commonly used in industry are: silica gel, activated alumina, activated carbon, molecular sieves, etc. In addition, there are adsorption materials developed for selective adsorption of certain components. The success of gas adsorption and separation largely depends on the performance of the adsorbent. Therefore, the choice of adsorbent is the primary issue in determining the adsorption operation.

 

Zeolite molecular sieve is also called synthetic zeolite or molecular sieve. Its chemical composition is as follows: [M2(Ⅰ)M(Ⅱ)]O.Al2O3.nSiO2. mH2O where M2(Ⅰ) and M(Ⅱ) are monovalent and Divalent metal ions, mostly sodium and calcium, n is called the silicon-to-aluminum ratio of zeolite. Silicon mainly comes from sodium silicate and silica gel, while aluminum comes from sodium aluminate and Al(HO)3. They are combined with sodium hydroxide. The colloid prepared by the reaction of the aqueous solution becomes a zeolite after drying, generally n=2~10, m=0~9.

 

Zeolite is characterized by the function of molecular sieve, it has uniform pore size, such as 3A0, 4A0, 5A0, 10A0 pores. The 4A0 zeolite with 4A0 pore size can adsorb methane and ethane, but not normal alkanes with more than three carbons. It has been widely used in gas adsorption separation, gas and liquid drying, and separation of normal isoparaffins.

 

Carbon molecular sieve

 

In fact, it is also a kind of activated carbon. The difference between it and the general carbonaceous adsorbent is that its pore diameter is evenly distributed in a narrow range, and the pore diameter is equivalent to the diameter of the separated gas molecule. The specific surface area generally accounts for more than 90% of the total surface area of the carbon molecular sieve. The main distribution form of the pore structure of carbon molecular sieve is: the diameter of the large pores communicate with the outer surface of the carbon particles, the transition pores branch out from the large pores, and the micropores branch out from the transition pores. In the separation process, the macropores mainly act as transport channels, while the micropores act as molecular sieves.

There are carbonization method, gas activation method, carbon deposition method and impregnation method for preparing carbon molecular sieve from coal. Among them, the carbonization method is the simplest, but to produce high-quality carbon molecular sieves, these methods must be used in a comprehensive manner.

Carbon molecular sieve has been successful in the field of air separation to produce nitrogen, and it also has broad prospects in other gas separation.
